I have some hot pads my Grandma crocheted over bottle caps many years ago. I found this site and got the idea of making a yo-yo over a bottle cap instead of crochet. I think you could use the warm and natural to line the yo-yo and then add the bottle cap just before you close it up. Sew a few together and then you would have your hot pad.
Grandma made some that looked like a bunch of grapes and some that were sunflowers.
It would be another way to use up scraps. What do you all think of this idea?

Why use the bottle caps? Seems like they would wear on the fabric, and you would have to wait to collect enough to make something. Great idea for scraps though. Those collect faster than you can turn around.
