Now I know why it is good that I have kept all scraps from tiny to large. When I finish my jelly roll quilt, which I just started, I may have to give crumb quilting a try!

I have been saying pieces of all the projects I have been doing for the past 20 years, extra blocks, sample blocks, strips, etc. I feel so creative doing this. Any body interested in doing a crumb block monthly exchange? I am doing 6" finished blocks. I feel so "green" too right now, keeping the scraps out of the landfill (like I could throw away fabric, duh).

I was so glad when I learned about crumb quilts recently- I have a box full of teeny tiny scraps that were given to me. I had reluctantly come to the conclusion that I would have to pitch most of them, since they were too small for me to use for a scrap quilt. Just hadn't gotten around to sorting through all of them... Now I don't have to! Watched a video that someone posted about how to make them, and am looking forward to making one! Really need to finish a couple of other projects first, though...

I do my crumb quilts in combination with reverse applique and love the effect. I'm working on one with butterflies and Christmas ornaments. Moosegirl

I am having fun doing something similar. Check out Rainbows in a bottle. The little pieces are separated by color and attached to muslin and framed in the dominant color. It is like working on a mosaic or puzzle. Lots of fun. I also used my scraps for a spider quilt with the scraps being the background for the webs. That is fun too. I love scappys, you never know what the end result will be.
