Good morning, most of my rows are now pieced, so I am bored and looking ahead to the quilting portion of this quilt. Note: I loved Ranger's avatar quilt and that is what I've copied. It is so geometric that my usual free motion meandering doesn't seem appropriate. I would love suggestions for my machine, but I am not opposed to hand quilting since this is a November gift. Help! Looking for some design ideas.

WOW, it is amazing. I love it. No ideas except wish I could do this. Cool.

    Blessings,

What about something with curves or circles?

I would stick with the "geometrics" ie...straight lines, triangles, etc.

But I am still kind of new at this!!!

Ruth, this is a print of the EQ5 layout I did for this quilt. I scanned in the fabric, so it really does look like this. This is nothing but 3 fabrics, being sure to have a really good distinction between the light color on the top of the "brick" and a fairly dark color along the side of each brick representing shading. Then it's nothing but half square triangles and squares. Really a simple quilt, but very necessary to have a diagram to follow the layout. I pin it to the wall in front of my ironing board, then layout each row.

My first thought is some type of lightning bolt. This would include the straight lines. Add some stars to go along with the fabric. First thought.

How large is your beautiful design? Size of blocks etc.? Looks as if it would be a simple pattern to copy. I can/'t wait to see your finished quilt.Carol
