D9P Questions!
Making a d9p out of some really unique (aka ugly!) fabric a friend gave me. First question - the corners are going to be the fabric she gave me - pink with darker pink and blackish gray hearts and skull bones. When I am sewing them since it is a directional print should I flip the corners of two of the blocks so when finished they will all face same way? i was thinking top right and bottom left flipping. Also i am trying to use up scraps. so the top center would be white, second row black then pink solid then black. Third row would be white in center block. Sound ok to use four colors or prints? thanks.

For a long time I did the "which way should I face the corners" question. Then on day, I realized that you make them all facing the same way. Then, instead of turning the top right and bottom left around to make the block, I merely exchanged the top right with the bottom left!! Draw a nine patch on a piece of paper and cut it. You will see that it works. This way you don't have to make the decision about placement before you start. Good luck, Ann

thanks for the suggestions! i just remembered my sister gave me a bolt of black fabric she had bought and didn't like (kinda see through) i may use that for the blocks and just go with black, pink and white in the center. that should make it pop. just going to use it for something to throw across my lap at night.
