Dancing Thread
#1
Just got a book that teaches how to use thread to enhance your quilt by "dancing" across the top with thread. I'm one who loves the quilting part the most and have just started using varigated and metallic threads to make my quilt "pop." Guess that's the current term.
So at the Rocky Mountain Sewing Expo yesterday, I purchased some gorgeous metallic thread from Wonderfil. I've never heard of them before, can be purchased online. Their colors are beautiful and cost was competitive. True test will be how they work when machine quilting. Am going to try what the lady told me and use a 100 wt in the bobbin with a metallic. She said the bobbin thread will just sink into the batting and I won't know its there. She had some beautiful quits done that way so I'm figuring she knows what she's talking about. She used the metallic thread to go around her appliqued flowers and wow was it gorgeous.
So let me know if you try this and how you make out. If you see a post with the title "Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh" you'll know it wasn't a success.
