DEAL OF THE DAY!
#11
I volunteer at a thrift store and when we first opened the store there were some NICE things that sold for almost nothing. As we've been open longer, the pricers have gotten much smarter at pricing....no more big deals of the day....but still get nice things reasonably priced.

We tried supporting our local Salvation Army thrift store. The prices are so high we do not even bother to check it out anymore. $5 for a used shirt and $7 for a pair of jeans is just too high. We have two goodwills that need support and we go to them.

We have a couple "independent" thrift stores besides Salvation Army and Goodwill that I like to shop at. One of the independent ones proceeds benefits the humane society so I like to go there the most.

I live in Ft Wayne. It is Vera Bradleys' headquarters. Every May they have an outlet sale. Prices are usually 50 - 75% off. They are supposed to be seconds and discontinued patterns. This year 64,000 people attended the 5 day sale. I can't remember exactly how many semi trailers they had full of stuff but I think I heard 30!!!!!!
It is quite the event. Check their website the beginning of the year to find out when the sale is if you like Vera but not the retail prices.
