those are the rulers. most of us have purchased them thru this ebay seller. the price is great, shipping is reasonable, and she ships super fast.

at least 10 of us have used her so you can totally trust her.

some one just put up an ad trying to sell the software but i don't know this person and she hasn't been here long or posted much so i know nothing about that person.

Ok, I did it! hehe Klue, I bought the rulers from the ebay seller you recommended. I didn't stop to think... just clicked and paid. So that was step 1 in the wholllle process. :)

Someone here posted this link to Moda civil war repros... http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/Item--i-M-8150-AB Do you think 35 FQ's is enough for this project? I think I would use muslin for the background/sashing/etc.

i love that fabric and i'm not a repro kind of person.

that set should suit you very well.

1/4 of a focal FQ will make 2 blocks or 1 block & a triangle. so if you need just a little extra you could pick up a half yard of your favorite print from that collection.

that line just came out so you can certainly buy the bundle and then 12 months from now if you need a little bit more it will still be very easy to find at the shops.

    Brazen,
Klue has done an amazing job with her helpful hints in getting set up. I was going to get the book but heard from several people who had completed at least one that the book was nice to have but didn't help much with the actual process. I went ahead and purchased the software but I'm not that familiar with EQ and it is taking me a while to get the hang of it. I have not yet purchased the rulers but may add those soon. I'm VERY grateful that we'll have the suggestions of the board members to help along the way...and encourage us when we are having a tough time.

How about this packet of 200 fat sixteenths:

It seems like a good assortment.

Wow, nice find there cabbagepatch!! Thank you for sharing. I notice, in comparing your link to mine from above, the 200 fat 16'ths have greens in there, whereas the Moda line doesn't seem to have green! Strange.

On that ebay auction they don't mention what brand the fabric is. I wonder if I should get the Moda just to get that good name.... What would you all choose to do? I'm definitely going to have to buy whatever I use for the project, so using my own stash isn't an option because I don't have any civil war repros. :)

If you want to follow Janes original, she used a different fabric for every block, and I found that a 16th is plenty for a block. I have the top of mine completed, and am doing the borders. Using the Civil War fabs would be stunning! Muslin works great. I would suggest you buy 14-15 yards off rthe same bolt so it will all be the sane dye lot.
But one thing you all could do is guy fat quarters and cut them into 16ths and swap. It's a lot of fun that way, so long as everyone is on the same page about the era of the fabric.

    YTQ
