I agree with this. It's a beautiful print.

I also vote for the darker. The lighter green makes it look faded, to me.

I thought the lighter would be my choice until I saw the pic stacked together. Doing it that way, I like the darker green better.

Well, I am going to decide "for real" tomorrow, but I am leaning towards the light. It gives it a delicate look that I like. What I suspect I will do is make a few blocks of each and then make a decision. Who knows, I may even make two quilts and give one to charity. I have plenty of fabric.

Thanks for all the opinions and suggestions. I really appreciate it.

I usually would pick the darker, but the light seems to match the impressionist feel of the focus fabric. That's a tough decision--actually seeing the blocks will likely make up your mind for you.

How about a slightly darker version of the blue? Sort of a medium teal? I think the green is too tricky. If it doesn't match perfectly or read as though it does, it will seem to miss by a mile. Another idea might be to change your pattern so that there aren't big squares of your second fabric. A double sashing or a single sashing of alternating colors might allow a number of fabrics to work.

hugs,
Charlotte

I usually have to have things match exactly to be happy with them. I think the lighter one is a better match, but even with my normal desire for exact color matches I think the darker one looks better and makes the colors in the focus fabric pop more. I'd go with the darker one.

You have described why I am leaning towards the lighter fabric perfectly. I can't wait to know what I will finally decide. I know the darker fabric makes it pop, but this quilt may not need to pop.
