Default Design Dye (paper that transfers color to fabrics)

Has anyone used this product? I saw a commercial for it on YouTube & it looks pretty awesome, but I'm wondering how well it works and whether there are any issue with it later bleeding color or fading.

For anyone who is interested, here is the website: http://www.designdye.com/ . I couldn't find any reviews of it on Amazon -- too new, maybe?

This stuff looks really interesting. I hope it works as stated. Wonder where one can buy it.

This site offers a nice review showing results using different fabric types and such.

That is pretty cool Bree! It would be fun to make cut out letters to dye names or words on fabric.

Thanks so much for the review link, Lisa. Like Lara, I think I need to order this & try it out.

Oh my! That looks so fun! And they have a UK website! I'm thinking of getting it for a friend's birthday (although I really want it for myself!!)

I love to do silhouette (black) on to watercolor background. I now use black fabric with double sided fusible. But, I'm wondering if this could be used for this purpose. In other words, would the black be a solid or would the underneath fabrics show thru? What a time saver this would be!

I think that would definitely work! From the looks of that review you'd just need to make sure you iron it well enough so that the dye comes through as brightly as possible!

I've just ordered a kit for my friend! Very, very tempted to get myself one too! I think it would be a great help for a quilt that my next door neighbour asked for (and I have been regretting being so drunk on new year's that I said yes straightaway!) using a picture of the pyramids as inspiration. He doesn't like traditionally pieced quilts, so I think this could really be a good way to go for that one!
