Die cut shapes - butterflies, stars, teddy bears, etc.

I bought a bunch of these die cut shapes in various fabrics from the Keepsake Quilter catalog over a year ago. Is there any EASY way to affix them? All I can think of is spray adhesive and then stitch around all those small/tiny curves and shapes. Or, iron them onto adhesive-backed paper and peel and iron onto quilt and once again have to sew around the shape. I'm beginning to regret my purchase. Has anyone worked with any of these? And, how would you suggest getting them onto fabric? It seems like they would peel away if they are stitched down.
Thank you, Gerry

I love Keepsakes die cuts. Grandbabygirl wanted stars in her bedroom so I sewed two star die cuts together with thin cotton batting between, left the edges raw, and strung them across her room. Even her PICKY mom, my DD, thought they were nice. :P

I got a ton of their hearts and ironed on steam-a-seam interfacing. If you use the non-stick applique sheet they won't stick to anything other than the fabric. Doing it this way you end up having to cut the shape out anyway - but with hearts it wasn't that bad.
