I've noticed if I cook something, it doesn't taste as good as it does when somebody else cooks it..... I just wonder if quilting is the same way? If somebody makes the same quilt that you do, do you like it better than your own?

Cooking IS like quilting, you start out with a basic recipe and you might tweak it a little as you go on...

I agree with this. I cook very much like I quilt. Sometimes trial and error, or improvisation, sometimes it works out just as I planned, sometime I don't like it at all, but at least I tried...and sometimes its just better to leave that to someone else to do! LOL

Is it really that the dish taste better BECAUSE some one else cooked it, or because some one else took the time and effort to make it for you? I always assume it's the latter.... as far as quilting goes, oh yes, there are an infinite number of quilts that would be considered 'better' than mine; but only because I can appreciate the time & effort it took to create it.

I'm still at the stage where I like my meals better than my quilts, lol. I cook a pretty mean traditional turkey dinner and usually prefer my own cooking to that of other people.
