I have been watching videos and trying to learn how to do a binding on a quilt the correct way. And I have not had any luck. They only show you how to machine sew the back side. But when I flip it over to try to sew it on by hand I cannot get my corners to line up right. I have never had any sewing lessons. I cannot find anyone doing quilting classes near me. Any help or advice would be nice. I have even taken out an ad to try to hire someone to teach me. lol

You might try your local community college or continuing education program. These are great if you have no quilt store close to you giving lessons. My first quilting class was through a continuing education experience and it was great.

If there is a quilt guild in your area go to a meeting and see if you like it. Someone there can probably help you. There is also some information on quilting.about.com that explains binding, sizes, and has pictures of how to sew it on. Hope the website gives you insight to putting on binding. Also if I am going to flip the binding and sew down by hand, I sew it to the front side, flip it to the back, and then sew it by hand.
