I love using the start/stop button on my Janome. I have not had a problem with guiding my fabric through because the button is positioned in just the right spot near the presser foot.

I use the button when I am doing FMQ. It saves my foot from getting hot. I only use my Brother for embroidery at the moment. The Janome is set up for all other sewing.

I'm sure she could have turned that beep off by going to her instructions on the machine and re-programming it to stop.

Mine has the beep too, you get used to it after awhile, I don't even notice it anymore. But, I think it would be annoying in a classroom setting. If anyone knows how to turn the beep off, please let me know!
