Default A E Nathan Flannel question...

Has anyone used the extra wide flannel from A E Nathan? I found some on Fabric.com that I like for my husband military quilt but since I can't touch and feel it, I wanted to ask if anyone has used it before.

If you like it, please let me know as I plan to order it today if possible.

    Thanks!

You could call Fabric.com and talk to someone in customer service. They are verrrrrry nice! I've talked to them several times. They will send you a sample also.

Thanks! I went ahead an ordered it as my LQS does not carry any 108" flannel. I just hope it looks good. I did order a couple more items as well. This is my first order with fabric.com so I hope I like it as I have heard rave reviews.

i've been shopping with fabric.com for 11 years- they are my (go-to) shop when ever i need something- i've used many of their wide backings- including flannels- i like them all- i've never been disappointed with their fabrics. you do want to wash & dry the flannel before using it- flannels are a looser weave & shrink more than other cottons- also it helps (beef) them up- tightens the weave & makes them easier to work with.

Thanks! I had plan on washing it first since it is such a big quilt, my biggest thus far. The mini flannel blankets I have made, I haven't pre-washed but they turned out fine.

Just wanted to give an update:

I got the grey flannel in today. It has been washed and I am in the middle of basting the quilt!!

The flannel is soft and didn't fuzz up alot when washed. It didn't leave much lint in the dryer either. I was surprised. Now we shall see how it quilts and holds up after another washing.
