My Oldest Son became an Eagle Scout back in 1998. Since I had 3 boys I became involved too. and so did my husband... 13 + years in our Pack and Troop . at that time there was a 2% ratio of Boys becoming Eagle Scouts.... Ours was a very Active OUTDOOR Troop with Camping and Canoeing , Service Projects, and Merit Badges... They went to a International Camping Weekend on Pelee Island Canada in Lake Erie, my husband and Oldest Son..., Camping in the mountains of New York, And a 50 Hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. Also Order of the Arrow,
So any fabric that has a Theme that has to do with any of his Merit badges would be nice to use as borders.... Give him a a Scout salute for a Great Job !

Congrats on the Eagle Scout in the family. I have an Eagle Scout DGS too. But I would suggest you ask him first. I wanted to make mine one, but when I asked him, he said "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!". I didn't get a reason, but wasn't going to work that hard if he wasn't going to appreciate it. I did make him a quilt for his bedroom with matching valances. He said he likes that more.

Saw this on Kaye Wood's site today http://www.kayewood.com/item/Blaze_o...llhanging/2132. I have too many UFO's to start another quilt now, but would like to make it for my grandson who is a falconer.

My grandson is going into the Webelos and have a lot of patches that is has received. I bought a red boy scout blanket at the scout store and I am going to put the patches on the blanket. It will be something he can keep and I will add to it.

The is scouting faabric. If you google it I'm sure you can find it. I have some with merit badges, camping, eagles, etc. Congratulations it is quite an honor. My son made Eagle scout. Both myself and my husband at different times were the scoutmaster of our trip. I enjoyed it very much. It was an honor helping these boys succeed.
