Default Easy Way to Cut Triangles??

A few days or weeks ago there was a thread which showed an easy way to make four triangles from two fabrics. I can't remember the thread or exactly how it was done. I know you stitched a diagonal from corner to corner but I can't remember the sequence of steps after that. I think it was a reply within the thread that showed how to sew and cut the triangles. Can anyone remember the thread or know how to do it. TIA.

I sew a 1/4 inch seam all the way around the two squares I put right sides together and then cut on the diagonal. I end up with 4 triangle units. You can also sew on the diagonals and cut the entire square unit in vertically and horizontally and you get 4 triangle units. It depends on how much you like bias edges. Lol.

Google 'how to make eight half square triangles at once'. Scroll down and click onto the one by 'sewmamasew. It is a great tutorial.

If you are stitching on the diagonal, and making more than 2 HST, then you would get 8 , but on the straight of grain

if you stitch around the edge, then cut, you would get 4, but with bias edges

Thanks, everyone. The one I was looking for was the Magic 8 triangles.

The one from chezstitches.blogspot has a great chart for what size to cut your square depending on the size triangle you want.
