Joann's (on-line only) has a sale for the Sizzix Big Shot for $59.99 and the Sizzix Big Shot Pro for $239.99 and the Accuquilt Go Baby for $119. I've been wanting a fabric cutter, but am confused about which one to get. The Big Shot is for the cutter only. I think the Pro has some accessories, but I'm pretty sure that none of these cutters have dies. But, was thinking the the Big Shot is so cheap at this price that I could get accessories & dies a little bit at a time. I have always heard of the Accuquilt products, but I'm not up on the Sizzix. Can anyone tell me if the product is of good quality, how does it compare to the Accuquilt Go & if this is a good price???

Why don't you read up on all the threads here about them by using the search feature above. That should help you decide.

The most important thing is to know if the brand and model of the cutter you buy will have the dies you want for quilting. Most of the inexpensive die cut machines are made for scrapbookers that use fancy paper die cuts and not many quilt shapes.

After I posted this topic I did go to search. And there was a very good & infomative posting about cutters in particular the Sizzix. I've printed it out & I'm going to read through it & other reviews before buying. Thanks!

How do I find that out? The descriptions of the product say that they cut everything from paper to fabric. Do I look at the dies?

I have the Sizzix Big Shot Express. That is the electric one. It uses all dies (accuquilt too) as long as the dies are less than 6 inches wide. The Big Shot uses the same size. The Go Baby dies will work on it.

The Big Shot Pro will use the bigger accuquilt dies, and of course, the sizzix dies.

Sizzix makes a quilter's specific cutter that will use all dies, called the Winchester.

None of the Sizzix products come with dies, but they do have the cutting mats with the machine.
