Embroidery Machine Suggestions/On Sale
Hi All-
I've come to the conclusion that I REALLY would like to purchase an embroidery machine. My budget is $1-2K for one. There are SO many on the market and I do have a brother, bernina and viking dealer within 25 mile radius so I can go and check them out.
I mainly want a machine where I can embroider on towels, shirts, etc..not so much quilting designs and I don't want a sewing machine..just stand alone embroidery.
I would like the hoop to be the largest size it can be because a friend has a smaller hoop one and its ok, but I would like it for bigger projects.
If there are any "deals" etc out there, but let me know along with suggestions.
Merry Christmas! JC

I love my Brother machines I have 2 machine. One is the
Innov-Is 1000 which is not made any longer, and has a
5x7 hoop. The other machine which is my newest (2 years now)
is the Innov-Is 1500D (the "D" means it is a Disney machine)
the largest hoop is a 6x10. Both of my machines are combo.
I highly recommend getting a machine that offers the largest
hoop size for your money. Brother has a new emb. only machine
that makes me THINK (but I won't do it yet) trading in both my
machine to get. The emb. only machine is the Dreammaker XE Series
Of course there will be others who will suggest other brands & models.
Good luck with your research. Let us know which machine you decide to get.

Brother makes excellent embroidery machines. Brother was the first manufacturer of commercial embroidery machines. They know their stuff. They have 2 domestic stand alone embroidery machines. A smaller PE series of machines with a 5x7 field that is very affordable - leaving you enough money in your budget to purchase threads and other supplies you'll need, and the Dreamweaver embroidery only machine that has a field of over 10 inches but is also over your budget.

Much of your continued happiness and success will depend upon dealer service and assistance after the sale…….Visit both the Brother and Viking dealers…..try out several machines……I know Viking currently has sales on their classroom or demo machines……and they frequently have trade ins that have been thoroughly checked out………..ask questions………test drive the machines………see how the dealer treats you……….and then make your choice accordingly.

Janome has a wonderful embroidery only machine. It is the mc350. It comes with the 4x4 and 5x7 hoop and you can purchase the Gigahoop as well. That machine can be found for prices from $850 to $1200

I have the brother pe770, and it does what I want. I used to be a professional embroider on a 15 needle wirh a 30 x 32 approx. field. i'm happy with the 5 x 7 field. that's about the biggest you'll need, unless you're doing jacket backs for adults. it's about $700.00. i'd go for that

I has the Janome 350e got it used from a dealer with hoops and warranty for $500.00 it worked great, but I soon found the hoops were not big enough for me, so I traded it in for a used Janome 11,000 that was upgraded to an SE from my local dealer for $2,000 with warranty.
I'd say. Heck with a local sewing /vacuum machine store and craigslist.
