I am about to start quilting a french braid on my long arm...but the top is all Batik fabrics...does it make a difference about the needle size on the machine?? The fabric feels way lighter and I am scared i am going to hurt it... I'm using a 100/16 based on the weight and texture of the thread.

Thoughts???

Practice first on a sandwich of scraps equal to your quilt sandwich. Will tell you.
