While working at the LQS (taking inventory), I noticed quite a few fabrics originated in Japan. I don't remember the manufacturer. I guess we will paying dearly for those fabrics when they recover from the devastation.

I hadn't thought about that. Japan has some really interesting prints.

Any of these names ring a bell? Some of my favorites:

Daiwabos. Seven Islands. Echino. Kokko. Lecien. Quilts Gate.

No, those weren't the ones I counted.

I think Jacqie has some knowledge about which fabrics come from Japan...seems like I've seen it posted before.

A great many of the metalic fabrics are printed in Japan ( screen printed). Some of the Kaufman and Hoffman lines are sur eto be affected, particulary the Christmas lines ( metalic). If I was to guess at least 1/3 of my stash is screen printed in Japan.
I found out the Olfa rotary cutter blades are manufactured in Japan.

I found a fabric at Wal-Mart that had the manufacturer name of Sevenberry. I looked it up online and found that it is a fabric from Japan. It seems to be a nice quality fabric, it is like Moda Marbles. I paid $1.50 yard.
