You might want to look locally for a sewing machine repair/or sew/vac place. They often service the older Singer machines and could have parts on hand or order them for you. My local guy is awesome! If he doesn't have what I want, it's only a couple of days wait to get what I need.

Check out the wiring, on the older machines, they are often in need of replacement. I think I paid about $30 for a new power cord/foot pedal. I kept my original, as everything else is original, but for day to day use, I use the new cord because the old one seemed like it was getting too brittle.

    Enjoy!

Congratulations. You will love sewing with your new machine. FYI, there is a Featherweight Yahoo! group you might be interested in joining. Here are the links to several FW sites.

    Serial Numbers: http://www.singerco.com/support/serial_numbers.html

    Parts / Supplies: http://sewingmachine221sale.bizland....ore/index.html
I have never ordered anything from this site.

    221 Parts: http://www.221parts.com/
I have ordered from this site. Good service.

    http://www.april1930s.com/
This is more about garment sewing, but she handles FW parts and accessories.

    Graham Forsdyke: http://www.singer-featherweight.com/index.html
Graham is located in England, and is one of the experts on FWs

    Nova Montgomery: http://www.novamontgomery.com/
Nova is located in Texas. I took a FW care and maintenance class from her.

    Dave McCallum: http://www.featherweight221.com/fwrx/index.html
Dave is located in Washington state. He has a comprehensive book and DVD with step by step care and maintenance instructions. I would recommend you getting one or both.

    Glenn Williams: http://pages.suddenlink.net/joyof301s/glenn.htm
I have never purchased anything from him, but his name is mentioned in the Yahoo group frequently as someone to go to.

It has the scroll faceplate! I wanted one like that but settled for one without. Welcome to the club. Did you name her yet?
