Finding myself hesitant to pick colours...

I'm no color expert but some places that you can get color help is from nature, a designer's collection of fabric works great, and if you choose a main fabric print , take lights and darks of some of the colors ...that can really make a quilt sparkle. Keep looking at what others have done and learn from them--good and bad combos. I don't think that we are going to be totally pleased everytime and we do get disappointed but keep trying. I just posted a pic of a quilt I made from I think Camille and Roskelly;s fabrics...bought a layer cake and just loved how it looks. I would have been tearing my hair out if I'd have had to pick out 40 fabrics for that quilt.

I like the quilt you're planning to make. I would just put things together and see if I really love them. The shop may have a place where you can do this...perhaps an unused class room. Just sort of audition them. If you like them all together, you have it! I find when I get what I want for a quilt, I lay it out on the counter where I can look at it a bit every time I pass by. If I don't like something, I put that piece back into my stash & choose something I like better. Good luck!

This what I ended up with. I like it. I think it's very bright and cheery, which is what I was going for. Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread.
