Default The New Singer 160 Limited Edition

Folks, has anybody heard of this machine & if so has anyone bought it or tried it out at some quilting store(if the store has it)?

Its to commerate Singer's 160th year anniversary....& its simply stunning, beautiful, heavenly & a true gem in my view.

You see as much to my shock & surprise I was given one for a retirement gift along with other retirement gifts by my employer.

But unfortunately a quilting store owner here in OZ ( no names mentioned okay as its only her opinion) & she does not think very much of anything that Singer makes.....

But needless to say, I am over the moon on & ever so grateful & humble that this has been bought for me, never had anything like this done for me....so you can imagine how I feel.

Cheerio,
Jane

Lucky you!!! Congrats on your retirement, too...
I think that you might find some info on the Singer website.

I understand this machine was released in Australia before the U.S. I think it is going to debut here in the next few weeks. I have only read about this machine on-line. The pictures are fabulous, so different and yet classic. I am intrigued by it, I hope you decide to keep it and have wonderful success with it.

What a pretty little machine! I'm sure the machine will also perform very well for you.

I would be tickled pink to get such a gift.

I just bought a Singer SEQS 6000 and I LOVE it. If it's anything like that you will love it.

A Singer sewing machine is just not made the way it was years ago. I have a Singer Touch and Sew that is at least forty years old, and it works and sounds better than the new Singers I have bought. They changed from being a quality machine with an A plus reputation to being a piece of junk. A Singer sewing center where I take my machines for servicing does not carry them any longer. It's sad, but true. I wish you all the best with your new machine, and it is truly wonderful to get a brand-new sewing machine for a retirement gift. I worked for a small company, and did not even get a phone call from either the owners of the company or the department that I worked for everyday. So, congratulations on your retirement and don't forget to make some quilts for charity on your new machine.

Congrats on both...I for one love Singers...and will order mine the instant they go on sale it seems not many people in the states like Singer machines I have always had good luck with mine. I talked to a lady in the UK she said she really liked the machine but it seem to her the ladies in the states hated it before it even debut...everyone has their own opinions some just seem to smell more than others lol....let us know what you think after using it for a while...I know I will let folks know again Congrats!!!!

What an awesome gift! I have a Singer 9940 and have no complaints at all (other than that I wish it had a larger harp). Doesn't really matter what others think ... just enjoy your new machine and your retirement :-)
