"Any body out there have teenage sons they would like to 'fast-forward' by a few years??"

no, mine are grown and for the most part are doing good, I'm dreading the just turned 18 yo daughter leaving home... you reach a point where you look at them and wonder WHERE ALL THAT TIME WENT!

Oh ant to keep on topic... boys like the frayed ragged jean look, and from experience, deep down those "too cool" dudes really melt when Mom makes them a quilt...

I too have made a quilt using both fabrics. The only thing I would add to the answers you've gotten so far is to wash both fabrics first. That way any future washing won't affect the quilt.

I am a pre washing fanatic anyhoo. But I have seen issues with non washed fabrics, besides it making me cough and sneeze when sewing or sitting beside someone with unwashed fabric. Classes are a challenge for me, I always cough and sneeze throughout the class.

I know what you mean too Colisa; I have an 18 yr old daughter as well. But she is my first, and will be my first to go. I'll just schedule my nervous breakdown for later. I hope you are right; I'd love to see teenage son melt.

I have been told Echoes that flannel is bad for shrinking. So I was planning on pre-washing it, especially since I am putting it with already washed denim. You must have allergies to cotton or polyester 'fuzz'!

My son just turned 20 last month. He was a good kid, but frustrated us to no end with his school work. He just gave up and refused to do homework or study and barely graduated. He is in the Navy now, and excells in all his classes and studies that he does. He LOVES the quilt I gave him at Christmas!! They do eventually grow up and become "men". I miss him terribly. He's my youngest and now I am an "empty nester" and kinda wish someone would move back home!!!
