Hi , Does anyone have a site that they buy flat flannel sheets from? I am looking for a couple of twin size flannel sheets for backing on quilts. I don't need the whole set. Thanks Elaine

I buy those at Dollar General and Big Lots. I've also found single ones at Kmart and (ugh) WalMart. Make sure you wash them first, especially the ones from Big Lots and Dollar General they tend to have their fair share of shrinkage.

I bought single flannel sheets at Mervyn's, they had all sizes.

I buy flannel sheets at the thrift stores and garage sales, the top sheets survive and many look as if they were never used :D

looks like great minds do think alike!!! I buy mine that way too. I love garage sales, and we have 2 nice thrift shops in town and one more expensive one. When I go see my MIL we go to the one there and it is huge! I always spend too much and my SIL says I could find a bargain in the trash. you bet! I then can spend more money on the front material.

Hi- I have used flannel sheets for small, usually children's quilts. I also use them to put on the car seats so my dogs don't ruin the seats! I have gotten them at Goodwill, the Salvation Army and Amvets. You have to be careful and look them over carefully to make sure there are no tears or worn spots. I have had great luck finding them and have bought many. Of course they must be washed before use but they have lasted as quilt backings for a long time and cost a pittance.

I'm impressed with the quality of the flannel sheets from LLBean. They are available without having to get the whole set, and they come in quite a selection of colors.

I would want to start with a new sheet. After spending all the time and money on the quilt top, I would want a backing that is fairly new, and still has a lot of life left in it. Not to say that you couldn't find that at yard sales, but where I'm from, flannel sheets are pretty worn when they hit the yard sale market.
