Default flying home quilt???

Hi All.. I fell in love with this quilt and just had to get the book and try my luck with it.. As I do so much better with a visual tutorial then reading a pattern this one looks pretty hard to me.

Has anyone had any experience with working with Pam Bono patterns..

I did try and send a message to someone that made this quilt in the pass and posted a picture of it, I am waiting to hear back but thought in the meantime someone else would have some input on her patterns and how difficult they may be..Thanks so much.

Her piecing method is easy but very detailed. You have to be organized. Think Judy Martin X 3.

I am not sure who you contacted. You may not know this but she died on Oct 2, 2014.

Just read all the way through the pattern, then get organized & start. If you have specific questions as you get going we will be able to help.

I think there have been two recent threads on this quilt. Here is one of them:

She said she sent a message to someone who made the quilt.

Hi everyone, Yes I knew that Pam Bono had passed away but the person that I email and have received a reply, was QM and she and her Guild made this quilt and it is posted here, She said it was group thing, beautiful quilt..

Like I said I really have trouble reading a pattern and then doing it.. I am so much better off watching someone do something and then I get it with no trouble.. I am going to do some thinking on making this quilt now that I have Pam Bono's book with the pattern in it,

Someone said that if they were going to make this quilt they would use the PP for the geese and I think that would be good too, I do have a few rulers that make geese and will try them , one is the Lazy GirlDesigns and it is called Flying geese X4, I have not tried this one out yet I got it from a friend for Christmas present, I also have quilt in a day geese rulers.. Thanks so much for your encouragement, I really look forward to trying my hand at making this quilt..

Quiltlady, here is my Flying Home by Pam Bono; I made a QS by adding more geese. Please see my notes just posted on the Sunflower quilt in reply to Marcia's request for a pic of the full quilt and my journey with Pam's methods.

Quiltlady, again, I cut out the flying geese as per Pam's instructions without paper piecing it was probaby my first attempt at flying geese, but I did learn a lot from her Rectrangles New Quick Piecing Tricks as mentioned on my sunflower post.

I made this quilt when I first started quilting and knew little about it. The pattern is very detailed with lots of pic and instructions to follow. many many pieces. it is best to cut them ,put them in a bag and label them. Not a hard pattern just lots of pieces.
