Are FQs worth a little bit extra?
#51
I solved the problem by taking my friend with me to the LQS who likes the same fabrics as I do and we buy the 1/2 yard cut or 1 yd cut, take them out to the car and sit with the scissor and divide them. The savings overall when buying several different fabrics is pretty good and you both get a good selection. We both do applique so we make them together and therefore we use the same fabrics. We each make 2 ea of 6 of the 12 blocks and it works out great.

(eliminating fat quarters at JoAnn's? )
Two days ago I went into my local JoAnn's and they had raised the price of fat quarters to $1.99 each!!! That's $8 a yard so whereas I WAS getting fat quarters, now I will buy a half yard and make two fat quarters out of it. REMEMBER, a fat quarter is NOT the same size as a 9" long. The fat quarter is 18 x 22 but a quarter yard is 9" x 44" or WOF. You may have different reasons for using each of those.
