Does anyone have any opinion on these vintage machines?

It looks like Sears sold this machine. I have no experience with this one, but most Sears sewing machines I have owned--newer ones, have been very good machines. The above site tell the history of the Franklin and other Sears models.

That is a great link. I learned to sew on a machine that looked almost exactly like the "Kenmore" pictured there. My mom bought it in 1955 and it was still going strong when I left home in 1971.
