minkee fabric

Help Please
I found some nice minkee fabric at a quilt shop on sale this summer. It is a white, pink and lavender plaid. I have never used it before. Can I use it as a backing. If I piece a top and use it for backing , do I need to use batting. I have enough for a nice sized crib quilt. I would your ideas please.

Yes, you can use it for a back. I've done one with batting, but other LAers have posted that it works well without batting, too. If you are quilting on your home machine, make sure you use lots of pins. It does stretch easily.

i just used this in squares in a warm wishes pattern.
If I were you using it on the back you could forego the batting and put thin stablizer on. I did this and also pinned pinned pinned!
