Graduation Quilt Idea needed
#11
Another relatively easy quilt to make would be using his favorite colors ... and either using cotton ... or doing a rag style quilt ... let the quilting do the work. Like in a whole cloth quilt. you make the quilt top then the quilting adds the themes you want using contrasting thread.

I knew you all would be the help I needed. A picture is starting to form, I'd better make some notes quick. Ladyjanedoe, I Love the link, I don't think I can do that much applique, BUT it is a great way to get the school name and year in, maybe a couple of other descriptive words. That quilt is amazing tho..
Have to see if there are tshirts available.
If I'm picturing the right thing, I think the RAG QUILT idea would be good --- to me it adds a little masculinity to the quilt.

I precut 13" blocks of white fabric and penciled in a 12" block borderline and sent them to our family and friends with the request that they either use crayon, permanent marker, acrylic paints or sewing or embroidery to make a memory block for his quilt. I gave them a deadline to get them back, then sewed them together and quilted it. At the get-together on graduation day we gave it to him with a reminder that all our prayers and thoughts would be with him as he went away to college. (He'll be forty and still has it.)
