I was at a quilt show on the weekend and saw an amazing quilt, it was a grandmothers flower garden but it was done different than English paper piecing. Instead of using paper the women used quilt batting pieces cut in hexagons and then folded pieces of fabric around the batting, she stitched the folds down and then hand quilted each hexagon before stitching together. She said her daughter found the method and pattern on the internet, I have looked for two days and have not been successful. The Quilt was called Stars in Grandma's Flower Garden . Has anyone come across this method or pattern before?

I think you need to check out Eddie's tutorial on this list. I think it is called hickory nut quilt. there is a tool you use. He has all the info there.
