I am making a quilt exactly like this right now. I cut my hexagons and triangles from freezer paper, lay it dull side down on the back of my fabric hexagons, which are cut 1/4" larger for the seam allowance. Then I fold the seam allowance over the edges and iron the seam allowance to the shiny side of the hex. You can use the freezer paper hexes over and over so you don't have to cut a huge amount of them. This works really well. If you have any questions PM me and I will try to answer them.
