Okay, so the dear friend's daughter was having a baby and chose not to find out the sex of the baby so I went with this and she loved it. And since we live in Ohio and Ohio State University has "Scarlet and Grey" - every quilt that the DH wants is grey with red and white.

I love how this quilt turned out. And yes, I looked at least briefly at the quilting. Amazing. And I do like the grey/gray! But I do think it is overused currently and then will go out of vogue...and then some will say, "that is so dated/vintage/out of style/yesterday", etc.

I'm with you there. Much prefer wood in the kitchen--or at least wood veneer to warm the whole place up!

Growing up I despised gray. But, as with most things, my tastes have changed through the years. My preference with gray is a very soft, clear, light gray which, trust me, is VERY difficult to find. There are so many other colors that go with it beautifully. To me, neutrals are peaceful. As others have said, I don't care for darker grays and I, also, find those depressing.

I like grey. I find black to...odd.. For a background. I like white or grey. But that's just me. Probably because I have too many pets for black to be a safe color lol.

I like the soft grays, but not the battleship gray.

After living in the Seattle area for 18+ years, I don't want anything gray. Nuff said.

I like different grays as a neutral background color it really depends on the colors and the quilt block - I really like white or off white background too - I think that looks very clean.
