Gutterman and Coats and Clarks thread are 2 of my least favorite now that I have discovered thread on fabric.com
They have several different brands, but I am still trying them out. I really like "King Tut" thread. There is more on a spool than what you think at first glance. There are other brands that I like too, but not so much Gutterman. I can't really say why, except when my C&C started shredding, I switched to Gutterman and it shredded too.

Thank you for your interesting comments on the thread. I have now been alerted that the thread could be made in Mexico - silly me thought that it was German. So from now on I will check - it just never occurred to me.
When I use a new spool I always remove the sticky label on the top so I cannot go and see where it was made.
