I was looking at the link about Aunt Becky's tool and went to the web site attached to look it, I didn't know what it was. Anyhow, I have found a few must have gadgets that I about to purchase, but while I was looking I saw the Gypsy Gripper. This is a large handle with suction cups at both ends that you attach to your long rulers to keep them from shifting while you cut. It's a great tool, I have one, in fact the last quilt show I went to my mom was unable to come so I bought both of us one, it was my splurdge of the quilt show...19.95 each! Well since it was a quilt show and I know I usually over spend I was fairly ok with that, a new gadget right? Yeah!...Well, since I was in town I went and did some other shopping after that. I went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and dang it, grrrrr! They had the exact, yes exact same thing, same size, different color and called something else but other than color and name, the exact same thing for 12.99 each. They advertise theirs for sticking on the side of the bathtub so you can have a handle to get in and out of the tub. Well, if it can do that, it can hold a ruler in place for you....so....if your in the market for one, get it at Bed, Bath and Beyond! (sorry I ramble so much!)

We re-vamped our bathroom last year and installed an over the bath shower, we found it rather slippy and I saw the bath handles as you mentioned and thought they would be a good idea, just never got round to getting any, since then the prices have come down and now having read your posting they will serve two jobs so I will definatley be buying some.

in my thread about the dent puller. ladies in my quilting class said that they found dent pullers just like the gypsy gripper at harbor freight for only around $5.00. they said that it works good. and also have a smaller one with one suction cup on it. i have to travel a little ways to harbor freight so i am going to check at our northern tool store to see what they have.

Quilterj....the one called Gyspy Gripper can be found at www.ericas.com and it's 19.99, the other one I can't remember what they call it but it was at Bed, Bath and Beyond for 12.99. I don't know what Harbor Frieight is, must be a regional type merchandise store, don't have them around here but 5.00 would be a great deal.

Ok, I've only had 1 cup of coffee so far this morning, I see that you were talking about Harbor Freight on-line, duh! I looked at it and the one for 5.00 is basically the same thing as the gyspy gripper, you can look at both and compare. I quess if shipping isn't to much that would be worth a try.

I have some, still in the package. Have never used them because I do fine without. Don't even know how I got them! Was going to sell but keep forgetting.
