Hello everyone,
I just received an email from one of the board members suggesting a book light be attached to the lap frames that I make. I have thought of the idea in the past, but didn't follow through with it.

So my question is do you use one while hand quilting and what type is it? If you can post pictures, I would love to see them.

Thank you,
Harry Barnett

my little quilting area has an adjustable table lamp combo right beside it so when i'm quilting i can swint the lamp over my shoulder to make it easier to see what i'm doing. I just have a reg. hoop that I use until i can find/afford an adjustable lap quilt that works for me :)

I use an OTT floor lamp that can swivel in any direction. My hoop does not have a lap frame like the kind you make. I also turn my hoop way to frequently. So a book lite attached to my hoop would rapidly become a hindrence rather then help.

I use the Mighty Bright floor lamp. I wouldn't hand sew without it.

I bought two more last week. So I wouldn't have to be moving one all the time and one to keep in my car trunk for sewdays.

I haven't used a book light yet, but I have thought about it, since in the evening I need more light and the lamp we have isn't easy to move.

I do turn my hoop a lot, so I'm not sure how it would work.

It sounded like a great idea to me until I read the posts about turning the frame. I agree, I think it would get in the way.
