Hand quilting and bunching blah
I'm hand quilting my irish chain quilt now in a hoop. It's a large quilt and I have to roll it up to get underneath it to push the needle up. My question is.. is there a way to secure the quilt in the rolled up position so I don't keep having to re-roll it every time I move the hoop? Is there an easier way to keep it all pulled up?

It sounds like your hoop is just a large embroidery hoop. I have two hoops, one round and the other a large square with rounded corners. They are both on legs. I can see why you are having problems. There are clips like the ones you use to keep your pant legs from getting caught in the bike chain that you can use to secure the rolled up quilt. If you are planning on making large quilts and handquilting them I suggest you invest in a hoop like mine or a long floor frame. I also have one of those. It would be a shame if you gave up handquilting out of frustration.
