I jokingly told my youngest son (a carpenter) that if he came across any old Singers being tossed out, to bring em home to me.... so he did. Yesterday he brought me one of his friend's mom's vintage sewing machine.... a Singer 15-91 (1953) in a #40 cabinet (Queen Anne).
The friend's mom passed away late last summer. Of course I greedily asked my son who got her fabric stash... he just laughed at me. Turns out she didn't have any fabric stash... she inherited the machine from her mother and they both only used the machine to do alterations & clothing repair work.
So now I have five machines: 1 Singer 15-91, 1 Featherweight, 1 Singer Quantum LE, and my 2 Janomes. (10K and 11K se).
