I would like to make an appliqued hearts quilt...8" squares. Need suggestions for placement....block to block, sashing, solid block between hearts, etc. All ideas welcomed! TIA!

This is a close up of one I made for a fundraiser. Most people use uniform heart shapes, which I chose not to. For hearts, I prefer to have them centered left to right, but to me, vertical placement should vary with the particular heart. On some quilts, I have made hearts that go every which way. Try putting the heart you want on the block and see where you want it.

As I recall the finished size of my blocks was something like 7x10

I used a 9-patch and appliqued a heart in the alternating squares. Can't find the picture right now but my GF loves it.
