Helicopters and Quilters don't mix

My son, my son, it's a good thing I love ya........
Tonight I started laying out the 78, yes, 78 ten inch blocks that I've slaved over for the last two weeks.
I was seeing stars of many styles and going crosseyed as it was since this is a star sampler kind of quilt.
Just as I had 7 rows laid out on my double table in the middle of the living room......
My darling, sweet son flew over it with his remote control helicopter that he got from his Big Brother this week.
aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There were stars flying everywhere. I couldn't find my paper guide to where to place each block,
There were blocks on top of blocks,
There were blocks on the floor,
There was a block on the dog!
It's a good thing I love my darling son.
But I did tell him he better go to his room real fast if he didn't want to see the wrath of Mom!!

This must be the reason I rarely quilted when the three boys were young. Well, that and lack of space. And maybe that I had too many other sewing projects since I made most of our clothes. No, I'm pretty sure it was the boys' antics.

I gave up sewing altogether when my boys were little. Between them and their sheep dog, somebody was always running off with my sewing stuff. I had to leave one day and left my sewing things out because I took both boys with me. Well, when we got home the livingroom was a mess from Snuffy (sheep dog) tearing up everything - even the pin cushion that had been full of pins. Luckily, he no pins stuck in him. I know it is always said some things you will get a laugh out of later. Well, I'm still not laughing because I love to sew and I gave it up for years in fear of someone getting hurt. I did later teach my sons to sew by hand though.

That is funny, I can just imagine. Esp since my husband is still like a little boy, he is into flying RC helicopters now (and he getting a small electric one for Christmas). I already warned him to leave the dogs and my stuff out of his air space.
Boys will be boys, even when they are men.

That's a good laugh (for us).
I take pictures with my cell phone camera (nothing elaborate) while I'm laying out a quilt top. That way if I take a picture and then rearrange them a few times (taking pictures each time), I can compare them (and have a record).
