90 degree weather & softball don't mix
#1
My church runs a church softball league during the early summer. Little boys play, then big boys, then girls (both ages - not enough) and then ladies @ noon before we take a break for the men's teams (which include some other churches) @ two.
Well, it's about 90 degrees out there today and just plain too hot. Towards the end of the ladies' game, I was on 2nd after hitting a double. I watched as the batter hit a foul ball or two. I remember taking a step and falling backwards. Next thing I know I'm on the dirt flat on my back with everyone congregating around me. Not the way I wanted to end the game :-(. Luckily, I think it was just the heat. After drinking some water and pouring it on me, I was able to walk off the field. I rested in the shade about 20 minutes before heading home.
So moral of the story - stay home in AC and quilt! :-)

I'm so glad you were O.K. Today has been a cold rainy day in the S.F Bay Area of Calif. Sun finally came out this afternoon. It is much cooler then usually around here lately.
We are lucky to see the mid 70's.
