    I used Paint Shop Pro, to emphacise edges and turn into a line drawing. Sometimes I will posterize a picture or reduce the colors in order to make patterns for applique. I take a Sharpie to outline edges, then trace on to freezer paper ot the non-glue side of fusible interfacing.

    Have you tried photocopying? It is cheap and if you first print it out of your computer then take it and photocopy it as many times as you need to and if you want to you can also make it bigger or smaller or lighter....
