Hi, I'm back from my 5 days visiting with mom and my daughter. One thing I had to do was bring daughter's little dog back after babysitting him 3 weeks. I have photos of him on my lap while I'm at my sewing machine... so cute. My own small dog died 6 months ago so when my granddog was here, I was reminded how lonely my house is without a dog fulltime. DH felt it too and says I don't have to wait any longer, so I've started searching the shelters for a little dog to be my new baby.

I might want to use a quilting term for my new dog's name.--any ideas?
Only 1 or 2 syllables are easy for calling a pet. It shouldn't be to much of an inside knowledge only a quilter could remember... I want children to be able to say and remember it too.

Thanks!

I don't care if it is a boy or girl, fluffy or smooth... only that it is small due to my experience of having difficulty lifting my 15lb Border Terrier when she was so weak at the end. Of course I want it to be cuddly and playful and friendly too.

Right now, I'm waiting to hear if 2 dogs of interest are still available;
- a small 10mo all white girl maltese
- a little young boy chihuahau mix, mostly faint speckles on white with some larger areas of darker patches of blacks and browns.
......"Patch" or "Patches" might work for him!

I should not take so long writing; just in that timeframe you above me said great things... patches, like me and Klue, your idea of "Ears" is very appropriate for the little chihuahua mix... he has really really big stand-up ears from I don't know what breed.

ears would be perfect for a dog like that and it would be an inside joke with all the quilters.

I love your Username LOL.
We have 3 minpins. And they love to help! Their names are Gizmo and Gadget and Sally.
Gizzy is 11 years old female, Gadget is 4 and a half years old male. Gizzy and Gadget are the mother and father of Sally 2 years old.
Yes against our better judgment, Gizmo had her first and only litter of babies at 8 and a half years old! That was scary. But she is fine and everyone is FIXED now.

Perfect name for Sally would have been Gidget but it would have been too confusing so Sally Field played Gidget so we named her Sally.

That has nothing to do with picking a name for your new baby does it? lol
How about Patches?, fussy? Pointy? Star? Stash?

Usually animals pick their own names from the things they like or don't. also, the name should reflect something about it's owner. I'd wait til the newbie gets there before seeing if the little one is a "batik" or a "Fido" or a WIP-pet.
