Can some recommend a site that has the fabric yardage needed for the whole quilt pattern please.

I'm terrible at figuring out how much I need. Right now, I'm looking at a pattern called Tradewinds that I want to make. Not sure how much fabric I need tho, and fabric calculators don't help me much  .

    Thank you.

The pattern should include yardages for the different sizes. Do you have a link to the pattern?

It is here. It gives the fabric for 1 square only. I need it for 20 squares. I'm going to put sashing in between them also. The asahing is easy to figure out.

    Hi sewnsewer2!

I don't know where I came up with this website, but I've kept it in my favorites for quite awhile.

    I hope that this helps.

    Your welcome.

I've referred to that website often.

What I should do, is print the information for when I go to the fabric store.

But if I do that, then I won't have an excuse to buy extra fabric!! lol

Carol, you should ALWAYS buy extra, especially if making a large quilt - running short can be diasterous, especially if there are only a few fabrics. You can use extras to trim curtains, pillows or shams. A single slip with the rotary cutter can mess you up unless you allow for extra.

I always allow 10 inches extra, because I mess up sometimes. I can always use the extra for appliques and such.

I found out the hard way once, if you don't get extra fabric.

I always buy extra. Atleast an extra 1/2 yard to a yard. I can always use the extra fabric for other projects. :D
