I am new to quilting and I absolutely CANNOT figure this out. I am trying to do the Sister's Choice block which consists of squares and half squares. My problem comes in when I sew the two half squares together. The half squares that are sewn together end up being smaller than the full squares and then I don't know how to attach the half squares to the full squares. This of course ends up not making my corner points match up. I've attached some photos to show you what I mean. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

this is what happens when I try to attach 2 rows together,,they don't match up

do I sew the 2 half squares to the full squares like this in the center?

    the outcome....points way off.

Did you cut the squares that you made into a triangle the same size as the other squares? They need to start out bigger.

The squares with the triangles weren't cut big enough to start with.

when you cut the triangles you have to cut them a little larger....search for half square triangles or hst for more info on sizes and directions

Hmm the pattern didn't say to cut them bigger. It just said cut 2 1/2" squares.

Yea your full squares are to big you can trim them down or if you do not have a lot of them cut start over

You will need to make the blocks for the HST's 7/8" larger than the square blocks.

Sew scant 1/4" seams, cut apart, press to the dark and square up the HST blocks to match the square blocks.
