I agree with one of the other posters, sit her down on Pinterest and search on quilt pattern. There are thousands of ideas and if you are going to the work of making her one, you need to make one she will like. Some people just dont have the love for quilts that we do nor the appreciation for the love and work that go into them. They are wired differently. My daughter is a lovely woman, but the queen size hand embroidered quilt her grandmother made for her when she graduated high school has never been on a bed. The 2 wall hangings I made for her I havent seen since I gave them to her. So now I make quilts for me or for someone else and I buy her other things that she likes better.
