Looking for an easy quilt pattern to make my step daughter. She is kind of picky about things. Thought you might have some ideas to throw my way. She doesn't like star patterns or any patchwork quilts. Thanks so much for any replies.

Not sure what you mean by patchwork quilts. Does she like more modern?

You could cut a large piece and then just add a border ..... no patchwork. I make a lot of baby quilts this way.

The take 5 pattern is a really easy one to do. As a matter of fact I am on the 4th one I have to do.

Not sure what "not liking patchwork" means. The only style without any patchwork is wholecloth.

I would sit down in front of Pinterest and have her search for modern quilts or something like that. If she is that picky, she needs to pick her own pattern or she won't appreciate the effort that you are going to to make her a quilt.

Does she have a hobby? If so, maybe you could find a "panel" and then sew borders around it until it was large enough.

She's in her 30's with no hobby. She's to busy raising children- 3 yr and 1 yr old and then two teenagers. Came from a well to do family.

You might try a rail fence...they can end up looking sort of modern. Let me see if I can find a picture of one of mine....just in case. It is an easy pattern. Okay, I found two...
