I saw that tip, too, and thought that made a lot of sense. And some of the Kleenex boxes are super cute!

I love this hint...will be using this as soon as I get an empty box which doesn't take long as my DH has allergies and can empty a box of tissues in less than a week

Thanks for sharing. I also like the cereal box idea. I often use those boxes as fast templates.

I am shooting for making a pet bed but I have a small container right by machine also. This is a good idea. Thanks for sharing.

Good tip, but use the scraps, or donate them for pet beds, etc.

Great idea. You can just throw it away when full. think of all the containers that get thrown away, not recyclable, that could be used.

I found an over size coffee cup with "Maxine" on it, that I use as a 'table trash' container. i think it was originally a vase for flowers. It says "it's Valentines day, my heart is all aflutter....stupid coffee!" Lol! The character "Maxine" reminds me of my Nana, her nickname among her friends was "Tex" that about sums her up. I sure miss her cornball humor!

I use the tissue boxes to put plastic bags in. Since the bags squash down really easily I can put a lot in one box. When full, I put one in the car, my sewing room, garage, etc. They come in really handy. However, with the ban of plastic bags in California, I'm not sure for how long this idea will be useful.

One more idea, since the boxes are small, they fit nicely in a grocery basket, so when you are in a check-out line you will have as many bags as you need to put your groceries in. I been caught too many times being short and then having to pay 10 cents a bag for the extra groceries that couldn't fit in my grocery bags.

Our store GIVES us 5 cents for each bag of our own that we use. But you'd be surprised how few people take advantage of this. I have a designated tote bag that gets washed often for bringing home the groceries, and a few plastic bags are in this bag all them time. I feel really bad if I forget this bag when I go to the store. Sometimes I just use my purse for small items. I hate taking another bag home from the store.
