I had absolutley no intention of buying another machine, but I went to an auction and bought a Singer 221-1 for $120.00. Is that a good deal? Is it a featherweight? Looks like everything is there but I really did not check it out 'cuz it smells. I left it out on the porch for awhile to air it out. The case is no good. I blame you all on this board for this purchase!! I was not going to tell anyone on this board but I recently (before I joined this board) gave away two good old metal machines. I know what will happen next....another dog or a kitten or two!! :| :| :|

That's a great deal! You can get a new (replica) case for about $60 I think. I just love mine! I use it pretty much exclusively for piecing and my Viking for quilting.

You might want to invest in this book. It's very handy to have around!
