If you need some jeans, let me know. I have a whole trunk of my husband's old jeans that I keep saying I'll use. They're pretty good because he wears a "larger" size and there and good sized usable pieces.

My pattern calls for 6 pair of adult jeans. Cut out 8 1/2" squares using the back pockets. The cut the rest into 2" strips. Put together as a log cabin block..3 rows of strips. Makes 12 17 1/2" blocks. Add 2" sashing between the blocks and 2" border. Size will be about 60x80. For some reason I am not able to download picture.

Thanks, GeeGee. I got the original pattern from a dear friend who was 99 and still quilting ! I have made these for friends who have lost their spouses -- I use their jeans. also I have made 4 of them for benefit auctions. Always seem to be a hit.

I use sheets for the backing... flannel if I can find them at a reasonable price. I only use the 'old-fashioned' regular denim. And I tie them using pearl cotton. Good luck ladies -- they are sooo much fun to make !
